NORD KEYBOARDS
Clavia DMI AB was founded in 1983 by Hans Nordelius and has its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden. The first product – the Digital Percussion Plate 1 – was the first drum pad in the world which allowed the dynamic playing of sampled sounds. Shortly thereafter, the brand ddrum was introduced with its electronical drum kits and trigger systems which quickly gained a following among professional drummers worldwide. In 1995, Clavia first introduced the NORD Lead, the first virtual-analog synthesizer that combined a unique sound with an intuitive user interface, instantly making it a classic. In 1997, the NORD Modular Series, the first digital, modular, and perhaps the most flexible and innovative synthesizer ever created, was released. The NORD Electro Series and NORD Stage Series, released in 2001 and 2005 respectively, allowed Clavia to conquer stages all over the world. Since then, their emulations of vintage electromechanical instruments and natural simulation of acoustic instruments are considered to be the best money can buy. The bright red design underlines the individual touch of the instruments and the unique user interface has contributed significantly to the fact that NORD keyboards are a modern staple of every keyboard setup on stage and in the studio.
